Taking LSG Sky Chefs to Greater Heights
From Form to Functionality
Tampa International Airport and The City of Tampa wanted to construct an on-site, full service flight kitchen to prepare and package meals served by airlines to their customers. The 30,000-square-foot space required design, interior demolition, renovation, and new interior and exterior construction to meet the needs of a fully functioning commercial cooking, packaging and storage space.
Challenges Met, Expectations Exceeded
LSG Sky Chefs, one of the world’s largest airline catering companies, needed a team capable of managing the project from start to finish. D-MAR provided complete design and build services including 25,000-square-feet of demolition, construction of 6,200-square-feet of office and cafeteria space, and 14,000-square-feet of cooler/freezer spaces. Mid-project changes threatened to delay timing, but D-MAR remained unfazed and completed the job on time and budget, even adding an additional 5,000-square-feet of usable space.
